Welcome to the Forres Academy Parent Council.
We are the active Parent Council of Forres Academy, and we are always happy to welcome new members.
The purpose of this Council is to provide parents with the opportunity to develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of the pupils, as well as increasing their understanding of school matters.
We represent the views of parents on the education provided by the school, and other matters affecting the education and welfare of the pupils. Working together, we promote a successful partnership between the school, its pupils and all its parents.
“Education is not the filling of a bucket,
but the lighting of a fire.”
– W. B. Yeats.
Meetings are held at least once a term, with items on the agenda usually including feedback on finances, a report from the Head Teacher and feedback on extra-curricular activities. Other agenda items are varied including topics on Right Respecting Schools, School Improvement, Healthy Eating or other issues of interest to parents.
The Parent Council represents the views of the Parent Forum. All parents/carers of pupils currently attending Forres Academy are members of the Parent Forum. If you would like to become involved or have any issues that you feel should be raised at our next meeting, please refer to our contact page.
